Eugh how is it Wednesday again already? It seems like only yesterday I was working on last week’s Imagining the End of Lockdown post… But here we are again! I hmmed and hahed over what to talk about this week, and after watching the first ever Star Wars film for the first time yesterday, I decided to go with 100 films to watch before you die – a cheery thought!
So last night, I was chatting to Jordanne on Skype, and realised how much I was in the mood to settle down and watch a good film. As I said a few minutes ago, Dad and I watched the first ever Star Wars film yesterday – it was my first time of seeing it! – and so when I was settling down to write this post, I couldn’t pick what to put on in the background.
Now I know Netflix and Amazon Prime and Disney+ are all filled with great films, but I just wanted an all time great film. One that shouldn’t be missed. So I started browsing the IMDb 100 Films Before You Die list, and realised how few I’ve seen!
1.The Shawshank Redemption
2.Goodfellas
3.Forrest Gump
4.Raiders of the Lost Ark
5.Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
6.Saving Private Ryan
7.Back to the Future
8.Back to the Future Part II
9.The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
10.The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Current Total:- 9/10 – I’m pleasantly surprised! Can you guess which one I haven’t seen?
11.The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
12.Casino
13.The Godfather
14.The Matrix
15.Pulp Fiction
16.The Sixth Sense
17.Rain Man
18.Equilibrium
19.The Silence of the Lambs

21.Fight Club
22.Gladiator
23.A Beautiful Mind
24.City of God
25.Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
26.Die Hard
27.The Green Mile
28.The Last Samurai
29.Cast Away
30.Schindler’s List
Current Total:- 17/30 – Again only 4 seen in this section… Beginning to realise just how few films I’ve watched, and how many times I rewatch the other ones I have seen!

32.K-PAX
33.Jurassic Park
34.The Da Vinci Code
35.Mystic River
36.Good Will Hunting
37.Falling Down
38.Apollo 13 (I)
39.Groundhog Day
40.Braveheart
Oh dear goodness, that was a bad round for me…. I’m now up to 18 out of 40. Can you guess which one I have seen? Clue – it was first year uni, and we played a drinking game to it!

45.Spy Game
46.Das Boot
47.Enemy at the Gates
48.Pearl Harbor
49.The Birds
50.Once Upon a Time in America
And we are halfway through the list! I’m now sitting on an appalling 22 out of 50. How are you all looking? Any 50/50s? Let’s get on with the other half of the 100 films before you die list…

98.The Beach(I)
99.The Fast and the Furious
100.The Chronicles of Riddick
Aaaaaaaaaand…… (drumroll please)
I finish with a very unimpressive 29 out of 100!
How did you get on with the 100 films to watch before you die? I might make it one of next months’ goals to make sure I get through at least another 21 of these films while I’m still furloughed. What do you think?
Anyway, we have less than a week until my next new post, so remember to click on the follow button to make sure it arrives in your mailbox when it goes live.

This was such a fun post! I think I got around 54 if I counted quickly – I do like watching my favourites over and over again though… 😀
