My Bucket List

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe how close we are to the weekend? I can almost taste the cocktails and wine…. but before we can get there, there’s today’s work to get through. So I thought that today we could take a look at my bucket list.

If you’ve never written a bucket list, then that’s okay.  I don’t know if I’ve ever properly sat and written a list. However, my bucket list is something I’ve thought about a load of times, and it does feel great whenever you can tick something off it.

Today I thought I could share what I’ve ticked off my bucket list over the years.  Some may seem insignificant, or strange, to many people,  but that’s why it’s my bucket list. It’s personal to me, and I’m delighted to have been able to tick even some things off it.

  • Read all 3 Lord of the Rings books
Starting simple – ever since I watched the films, I wanted to read the books.  This I actually achieved when I was 13 years old, however I might re-read it soon as it has been a whole decade since I read it.
  • Live alone
Okay so I did this for a few months. It didn’t work out the best, finance and work reasons, but I did it and managed to prove to both myself and others that it is very possible.
  • Go on a girls holiday
I went with Jordanne to Ibiza back in 2017, Lanzarote with Rachel in 2016, and London with Rachel in 2018 – all of which I adored! Next on the list is to travel to different parts of mainland europe, especially before Brexit! Note to self, must get an Irish passport…
  • See Michael Buble in concert
Now most people wouldn’t expect this from me, however I am in complete awe of Michael Buble and his skills. And I managed to tick this off the list when I went to see him with Rachel back in September! Since he’s coming to Belfast next year, I might take a look at tickets, but I don’t mind if I don’t get them.
  • See Ed Sheeran live
I adore Ed Sheeran. Seeing him in concert back in June will be one of my favourite memories for a long time, even if it’s slightly tarred by the long walk home…
  • Sightsee around London
Again, this is something I ticked off the list with Rachel back in September.  There’s still so much more to see and do, but I’m delighted to even have made a start! Now I have an excuse to do it all again.
  • Learn to drive
I don’t know why this was always such a big deal for me, but I was delighted when I passed my test, and am even more delighted now to own my own car! She’s a gorgeous little thing, and I can’t believe that at only 4 months old she has nearly 1200 miles on the clock. Miniscule to some, but I still remember the shock when it changed to 10 miles!
  • Spend my birthday abroad
This I achieved this year – we were in Ibiza for my birthday this year. I think it was possibly the only day there wasn’t a thunder storm, we had not the best dinner, but I went to bed (slightly) drunk and managed to get sunburnt on my birthday.
  • Go to an Ireland rugby game in Dublin
Some of you may remember the fun I had back in March when we went to see Ireland play Scotland in the Six Nations.
  • Go to Disneyland Paris
I’ve actually been twice now! And I’m not ashamed to admit that the first time I went, I cried watching the firework show at the end of the day – I was so happy to have finally flown there and seen the show, and just have been there. Plus I got to visit the incredible Christmas shop in the castle, so that was a bonus.
  • Be a tourist in New York
Done! School trip back in 2013 – the best trip ever! We did Times Square, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, Madame Tussauds, the Natural History Museum, 5th Avenue, Empire State Building, Central Park, and probably more that I can’t remember, but it was amazing. And we found a perfect little independent deli near the hotel for delicious meals.
  • See the sun set on the southernmost point of Ibiza
    It really was beautiful

So there we have it, some of the things I have managed to tick off my bucket list.

Were any of the above on your bucket list? Or what things have you managed to tick off your bucket list this year? Let me know in the comments below! Oh, and have a fab weekend everybody xx
