Goooood morning! Did you sleep well? I’d love to say I did, but to be honest I never seem to sleep well on a Sunday. I think it has something to do with Monday mornings and work… but I’m getting side-tracked already. Happy October! It seems I have decided to post at least twice a week this month – according to my schedule anyway – and so today I bring you the spooktacular Hallotober Tag!

I love a good tag post, don’t you? So much so that I’ll give you a laugh with this one. Over the last week to ten days, I saw multiple people sharing they had tag posts going live on either 30th September or 1st October, and they were looking for people to tag in them. All with varying DAs and from different sources, I dropped a message or a comment or an email to say “me please!” and left my email address. Little did I realise every single one of them was doing the same Hallotober Tag!

The Hallotober Tag

Like the Sunshine Blogger Award, the Real Neat Blogger Tag, and The Liebster Award Tag, the Hallotober Tag was created by Jordanne and is centered around Halloween (her favourite time of year). The tag is called “Hallotober tag” and it’s all about autumn/October/Halloween allowing people to add in their own themed question.

The Rules

  1. Thank the person who tagged you and link to their post
  2. Put the rules at the beginning or after introduction
  3. Answer the 13 questions
  4. Tag 13 people to do the tag
  5. Delete Question 13, add a new number one question of your own

Rule 1. Thank Whoever Tagged You

So as I was saying, I actually ended up being tagged by several different people! So thank you to Jordanne, Sabina, and Ellie! To read their posts, just click on their names as I’ve hyperlinked them. I swear at least one more person tagged me, but I can’t find the tweet or email to confirm it so I’m sorry if I missed you out! Let me know and I can write an updated post!

Rule 2. Share The Rules

So I’ve already done this, but just wanted to be sure to include it when ticking them off!

Rule 3. Answer The 13 Questions

Okay so this one I’ll actually be answering 15 questions as I have 3 different Question 13s to answer. I’ll put the question asker’s name beside their question so you can track who’s asked what!

  1. What’s your favourite thing about October?
I love the colours of the leaves changing! I mean, I also love that it means we’re getting closer to Christmas, but we’ll not go there! No, my favourite thing about October is definitely going for walks in the crisp Autumn air and seeing the leaves change.
  2. Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?
Not really, no. When I was young and living in Scotland, we always went to the school disco, but I didn’t go trick or treating or any of that. It was really university before I started getting involved in Halloween!
  3. What’s your favourite horror movie?
Okay if you know me then you know I’m really not into Horror Films. Instead, I tend to choose Thrillers if I want to scare myself senseless? So for that reason I am going to have to say The Birds – it scarred me for life and I still can’t watch it or walk past a flock of birds without being petrified!
  4. Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?
Haha well if we’re having to choose, then I’m going for a night out – even if I’m not a big fan of going out!
  5. Which has been your most favourite costume to date?
Probably my Zombie Bride costume from I think my third year at university? First year I just wore a short black dress and a black cape in my traditional Vampire costume.
  6. Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the witch?
Bobbing for apples! Especially with the number of apples on our tree this year! Although this ruins your makeup so…
  7. How do you celebrate Halloween?
By locking the door, closing the curtains, and hiding from children going door to door! Sometimes, if we’re lucky, Dad buys in sweets “in case someone calls” but we get to eat them instead.
  8. What’s your least favourite horror?
So, again, I don’t like horror films. So can I just say “all of them” here?
  9. Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?
We never did trick or treating, so I can’t say it’s a memory from that. We used to live in a street with only 3 other houses – 2 of which had kids our age who did go trick or treating. So the last house in the street always put together bags of sweets for us and left them on the doorstep for us on Halloween so we weren’t left out!
  10. What’s your favourite thing about Halloween?
The fireworks. What is the need for that amount of noise from such pretty lights?
  11. Scary costume or Silly costume?
I always aim for a spooky/scary costume – what’s the point in a silly one?
  12. What’s your favourite Halloween candy?
Not a candy, but I love monkey nuts! You know just the peanuts in the shells? They’re the highlight of my Halloween – sad I know but true!
  13. Ghost decorations or skeleton decorations? – Jordanne
    Definitely ghosts!
  14. Do you like the taste of pumpkin? For example, pumpkin pies? – Ellie
Okay so I love pumpkin soup, and I love pumpkin spiced lattes (stereotypical I know), but I have never tried a pumpkin pie!
  15. What is your favourite scary/Halloween book? – Sabina
I’d probably have to say The Mirror! Although I have a gifted book review going live on Wednesday of this week that is a very close second – you’ll have to come back to see what it is!

Thank you so much for the nomination! I love all things spooky and Halloween related so I’m really looking forward to this one. Horror is my favourite genre, lol, so we differ hugely there. The Birds is such a good one, a real classic.

  2. Rosegold Reports

Fab post Katie! I so enjoyed reading your answers. I absolutely agree with you – thrillers are mils better than horror films! Happy October x

  3. voluptuouschatterbox

I love this so much, it was great fun to read! I’m with you on the monkey nuts! It is not Halloween without a bag and making a mess with them.. well for me anyway haha 🙂 Hope you have an awesome October. 🙂 x
