It’s been so long since I took the time to write one of my more diary style posts (and yes I just triple checked I hadn’t said dairy) so why don’t you grab a cuppa, tea or coffee the choice is yours, and come have a catch up with everything?
I’ve only been back in Northern Ireland 13 days but it seems like a lifetime ago that I got to see anyone in Glasgow. It’s been pretty much go go go since I did get back, but it’s been a good kind of busy. In fact, I’m now taking a Sunday to write all my posts for the week simply because there isn’t enough time in the week to write them and find the pictures etc.
Arriving back in Northern Ireland, I was ready to just relax and enjoy a bit of the summer. I had a load of plans for my blog (many of which I still have to figure out so please be patient! I also noticed my ‘follow’ button has gone missing…) and couldn’t wait to get to work on them. I wanted to look into summer jobs, catch up on sleep, have at least a bath a week, and so so much more. My rule for the summer was to say yes to everything! This lasted a week.
Arriving home on Thursday, I had a good night out with everyone to have a catch up, and then Friday I got my first bath of the summer and did a bit of unpacking. Saturday morning I was doing some ironing when Mum mentioned that the cast of Nashville (one of my all-time favourite TV shows that I’ve actually written about here for you all -> Nashville) were going to be holding a concert in Belfast, and before I knew it Dad and I had tickets to go see them! The rest of the weekend passed with very little else to note, except that I signed up to Weight Watchers and am currently working on losing some of the weight I’ve put on at university. Monday morning saw me home alone having a nice relaxing morning, when the phone rang. Mum’s office were looking for an agency temp to come in and do some filing and typing in the office over the summer months. All I had to do was go down and register with the agency and I would be considered for it. So that afternoon I jumped in the car and filled in all the forms and handed in my CV. After an hour of trying to get a blog post finished, the phone rang and I had got the job! So I started on Monday morning and am now working 9-5, five days a week. Not going to lie, I’m shattered but I love it. Twelve weeks of office experience and a little bit of extra pocket money – a great start to the summer!
Thursday and Friday last week were spent in my old secondary school, shadowing the teachers so I could get a bit of an insight into being a secondary school teacher. It was fantastic! I loved every minute of it, and am now even more definite that teaching is what I want to do. Still not sure on whether it’s primary or secondary but we’ll just have to keep everything crossed that I eventually get there.
Saturday was the 10 year anniversary of my mum’s dad’s death so we went out for dinner with our granny to Flame in Belfast and I’m not joking when I say it was amazing. The food, the atmosphere, everything. I’ll write up a review of it as soon as possible! But if you’re in the area, you should definitely go. All I would say is that on a Saturday night you would have to book your table, but it’s definitely worth doing. They have a singer in on a Saturday night and he was great. Good voice, not too in-your-face, and great craic as we would say here in Nor’n Irel’nd!
So I think that’s you all caught up on everything that’s been happening with me… I don’t think I’ve missed anything?
What’ve you all been up to?
