February 2018

Thank goodness… January seemed to go on forever, am I right? But here we are into February at long last. Today’s post is a look back at January, my goals for last month, we’ll set some goals for this month, and then we can hopefully get back to the posting schedule after this week!So February 2018 is finally here and while I had a good January, I certainly am delighted to wake up and know it’s the start of a new month.

Oh, before I go any further, a brief note for Rachel – Pinch Punch First of the Month! Hopefully you read this before you send it in the group chat.

So yes, January! The month started with Sarah Knight liking and replying to a tweet of mine about her latest book, You Do You. I went bowling with Paul and Lucy and even though I lost both games (badly) I had a great time! Rachel was here for the first week of January, and that first week was busy with seeing family, taking down Christmas decorations, and I had a job interview with a company. Unfortunately I didn’t get that job, however the agency I joined back here were really helpful and had already put my name forward for another job, and so all I could do was wait patiently. I did sign up with another agency too, in the hopes of getting a job quickly. So that signing up was on the Wednesday of week 2, and on Thursday I was offered a position by the first agency – I was starting on Monday without an interview! It was only a 2-3 week temporary position but hey, it was better than nothing. That weekend I got hosting a BloggersTribe chat for the first time in ages, and I really have missed how hectic but brilliant they are. I really need to figure out a way to get more involved in the chats while I’m living with my parents.  Monday morning came around and I was awake early and ready for my first day. It went really well, and I felt I got on really well with the rest of the staff. I got home on the Monday night and was so excited to go back in to work. That day was made even better by the fact that Emilia Fox actually replied to one of my tweets! Tuesday I went in, and they asked me if I would be interested in staying on with them and training up to do more for them than just what I had started doing – of course I said yes! And I haven’t regretted it once. That was the week of the snow, and on the Friday we went out for Dad’s birthday. It was a really good meal, and a good night overall. The following week I had a great Weight Watchers class! I have now officially reached a 4 stone weight loss! That weekend one of my friends got engaged, and my friends in Glasgow had both a memorial service for a friend, and another friend’s 21st birthday. Monday I got chatting to Jason for the first time in ages and it was great, Tuesday I went to see The Greatest Showman, and then yesterday was a normal Wednesday!

Wow January might not sound busy but I’m shattered just remembering it all! As for February? Well so far I have a few drinks planned with a family member tomorrow, I’m at weight watchers tonight, and I will be going back to Glasgow at the end of the month to clear out the flat. Will hopefully get seeing some uni friends, but I will definitely be doing everything I can to make sure I get to see JorWatch 4 filmsdanne – I mean, she is only around the corner!

January Goals:

Well I suppose it’s time we took a look at those goals I set back on the first day of the month. I’ll be doing a quarterly update on my goals for 2018 too, so remember to keep an eye out for that!

January’s Goals were quite simple:

  • Find a job
  • Read One Book
  • Watch 4 films
  • Socialise more
  • Set up and stick to my bullet journal

Well I think we can tick off the find a job! I honestly love it, and every morning I look forward to going into the office, even if I do make the mistake all too often of staying up too late the night before! This month I actually managed to read 3 books! One of the reviews can be found here, Deliciously Primitive, another will go live on Sunday (yes I know it’s not a normal posting day but this was meant to go live last week and didn’t), and there will be another one the week later. I don’t want to bore you all with constant book reviews! But they will be a lot more frequent hopefully this year. January actually saw me watch 7 films! I’m keeping track of them in my bullet journal, so I’ll tell you which ones they were soon. I don’t know if you can say I socialised more… but ah well! And I got setting up my bullet journal, and apart from this week I kept it fairly up to date! I’m actually planning on working on it tonight before bed. Maybe while watching Brooklyn Nine Nine!

So January’s goals were pretty well achieved! How did your January goals go?

February’s Goals

February’s goals are going to be somewhat simple, but sometimes that’s the best thing!

  1. Drink less coffee and more water – surprisingly difficult in an office!
  2. Lose another 4lbs in weight.
  3. Read one book.
  4. Watch 1 film.
  5. Keep my bullet journal up to date.

  3. Congratulations on accomplishing your goals! I think monthly goal setting is such a great way to stay motivated. So cool to hear you are bullet journaling! I’ve kept my bullet journal for almost a year now and although it’s the most rewarding and relaxing part of my day, I am such a perfectionist about it so it is quite time consuming. What are some of your favourite bullet journal pages from this past month?

And I’m so pleased you’ve found a job you like, we spend so much of our waking hours at work so if you don’t love what you do and like the people you work with it’s just miserable. Also well done on Weight Watchers 🙂 Really, based on January, I can’t see any way you won’t tick off all your February goals either – but good luck with them too! x
