The First of 2017!

Welcome back to my Sunday Summaries! How are you all? We’re now a week into 2017 and so I have to ask – how many of us are still doing well with our New Years Resolutions? Don’t feel bad if they aren’t going well, it’s the start of a new week and so there’s a new chance to start again!
This week has been a topsy-turvy week with quite a bit going on! Last weekend I was up at a friend’s house on the east coast of Scotland and had a brilliant time over the new year! Monday was a journey back to Northern Ireland and I seemed to be travelling forever. Tuesday was busy enough with a few errands to run for Mum and Dad, then on Wednesday I helped take down my granny’s Christmas decorations. Thursday came and once again there was lots to be done but I couldn’t stop and tell you now what it was!

Friday, Mum went in for an operation on her sinuses – I won’t bore you with the details – but it then meant we spent the rest of the day looking after her. Yesterday she had to go back to the hospital for more work to be done, but she got home again after and that’s hopefully her done now!

I then flew back to Glasgow and put a wash on before bed. I’ll worry about unpacking and everything today instead!
How has your week been?

Another Sunday

Woo we made it to the end of the week and hopefully you’ve all had a relaxing weekend. We still have today, at least, if you haven’t yet! We’re back to yet another summary of the week. Actually, to try and remember everything that’s been happening, I write this a little each day. It’s weird thinking that I write these in advance so you can read them at 9 am while, most of the time, I’m still asleep. But the point in telling you all this is because I can now tell you I’m sitting in a lecture theatre and someone near me smells incredible! Still can’t figure out what they smell of though… And now I sound a bit like a creep so sorry. But you aren’t here for my ramblings, are you? Well maybe you are, I don’t actually know… but yes, Sunday summary.

Sunday was a bit of a mixed day. I slept until about 11-ish when I was woken by the living room door closing. There are times closing the door helps with noise control, but when you’re woken by the noise of the door closing, and then someone starts making a smoothie or banging plates around, it does become quite difficult to sleep – especially if, like me, you’re an incredibly light sleeper and have a weird sleep pattern anyway. So yes, I got up and had breakfast before cleaning the kitchen. Not quite sure how it happened but this took me up to 1:30 pm! I’d offered to cook a roast for a flat dinner and so we were going to eat at about 4 pm. So I did a bit of maths until it was time to stick the oven on. As it heated, I showered and did some more maths and physics and then just fitted in work around finishing off the rest of the preparation. It was an alright dinner, I hadn’t cooked the vegetables enough unfortunately but the rest of it was reasonable enough (haha, Katie, sell your cooking skills why don’t you?) and the others did the dishes afterwards. I had a chat with Mum, who has suddenly somehow reverted back to phoning every other day? May need to cut that… But after I got rid of her, I started back into the maths. At one stage, I looked at my phone to see a message from the old friend I mentioned in last week’s Sunday Summary. He was asking to come round again, but I didn’t want to reply straight away and say no. Felt that would be rather rude. However, I should’ve. He appeared at the door 5 minutes later and I just wasn’t up for playing host or pretending to be interested. He tried to tell me he misses his ex girlfriend and just wants back with her, but had arranged a date within 24 hours of them breaking up and has since been on 2 or 3 dates? I wasn’t in the mood. I wasn’t rude, but I did give him 2o minutes and then heavily hint that he needed to go so I could finish my homeworks. The GRLPOWR chat was earlier on Sunday so I took part in it (by the way, Ciara did a fantastic job and you should definitely check out her blog here) before making hot chocolate and crawling into bed.

Monday got off to a bad start. I struggle to get out of bed at the best of times, but give me a headache first thing in the morning and it really is a battle! However, I managed to jump up and get through the shower, have breakfast, make my lunch, and get to class. Mondays are now my 11-1 and 2-5 days so in an attempt to save some money I made sure to have something in that I could bring for lunch. Let’s disregard the fact I went and had a large pumpkin spice latte, that didn’t count as saving money… but it did make the day slightly easier to handle. One of my friends actually suggested that my headaches are because I got so used to drinking coffee daily that now that I’m trying to cut down on my coffee intake I’m getting withdrawal headaches. Whoops! Maths was dull as ever. Mondays are tutorials which aren’t compulsory but they’re definitely helpful! We get set questions every Monday afternoon and have a week to do them. Then we go in the following Monday, get the answers to the problems, and have a chance to talk to lecturers and fellow students about how to approach the questions we had trouble with – don’t know why I didn’t use them last year! Then Physics was Mathematical Techniques – a component of the course we aren’t examined on but it can be useful for lab work. I had Matlab in the afternoon and it went surprisingly well! I finished up to exercise 11 of 18 within the 3 hours and was quite pleased with that. In the evening, I just watched some TV and relaxed until Mary came home from football, when I made some really good hot chocolate, if I do say so myself!

Tuesday was another good day. I went to class, and came home to two deliveries – one being my clothes horse so I could finally put a wash on, and the other was a delivery from Teagime. I’m going to talk more about Teagime this week but just wanted to do a quick mention of them here. Becca was the one who pointed me in their direction. You fill in a questionnaire and they then tailor your tea to this questionnaire, and in your first box you also get 2 reusable tea diffusers! But yes, I’ll talk about that another time. A friend called in over lunch too, which was nice to have a catch up. I spent the rest of the day studying, and forgot about dinner until 7pm when I found out what I wanted was going to take an hour to cook – no thank you! So instead Mary let me have some of her spicy tomato and chorizo pasta – it was so good!
Wednesday, now the best day of my weeks, was spent in class in the morning, followed by a trip into town to buy a couple of 21st birthday presents. Now, if you’ve been following my twitter, you’ll be aware that my birthday present shopping was a bit of a fail, however I did manage to get some more Christmas stuff! This included Tanya Burr’s beauty calendar, and the Yankee Candle advent calendar – I can’t wait to open them both! In fact I’m already having to hide them from myself… I came home, then got ready to go to LGBTQ+’s Scene Tour – basically a pub crawl around the gay bars in Glasgow. It was so much fun! My poor liver hates me again this week, as does my bank account. And the hangover was worse than last week…
Thursday, I managed to miss maths again… but I did make it to physics. It was a struggle to not be sick over everyone but I survived! After getting home and attempting to work, I crawled into bed to be hungover in style. I get so incredibly moody when hungover. My mood significantly improved after 6pm though as I started to get ready to host my first ever chat! Now in my opinion, the GRLPOWR chat all about disney went really well, but I’ll wait to hear your opinions. We then watched the apprentice on the projector and went to bed quite annoyed that there wasn’t a 6 person firing. What a disappointment!
On Friday I finally got to meet Becca after uni! We went for coffee on Byres Road and it was amazing! We chatted for ages before going out separate ways and I came home to do some work and some knitting. I’m in the middle of 2 different scarves so I’ll let you know how they go! To be honest, I then spent the rest of the evening knitting until about 2am when I tried to sleep and found that sleep was once again avoiding me.

Saturday, after only 3 and a half hours sleep, I got up and was semi productive with my day. I got a decent amount of my housework done – just the floors and food shop to do tomorrow – before getting some work done in the afternoon. I then showered and got ready for a friend’s 21st birthday party which was really quite fun! Although, not going to lie, being home before midnight and in bed just after felt incredible.
So how was your week? Anyone do anything fun?

Sunday Summary

It’s back! Have you missed it? I can’t decide if I did or not. However, it’s a Sunday morning and here we are, ready to take a look back at the last 7 days. How have you been? Haven’t asked you in a while, how rude of me. I’m actually looking forward to sharing the last few days with you so without further adieu, here’s Sunday’s Summary!

Sunday  was a little bit of a lazy day. Well, not lazy as I had so much university work to do… But I stayed in my pyjamas all day and got to be a bit of a slob. I finished up around 7ish and an old friend from first year showed up unexpectedly while Mary was cooking dinner for the two of us, so it was quite nice to have a bit of a chat. Actually, I’ve just remembered I want to ask Mary for her recipe for that chicken… Knew this was helpful!

On Monday, I had my two lectures and my first lab session of the year! Except it wasn’t really a lab. Instead, we discussed estimating things and deriving equations and used a cool app called Kahoot to answer multiple choice questions on the board. We then had to partner up and sign up to our experiments and our literature reports for later in the year. This was the nervous part for me – I know no one in my labs and was so worried about having to find a partner and talk to someone completely new. I hovered by the sign up sheets until a good three quarters of the room had left before approaching 4 girls and a guy standing in a group – there was bound to be someone without a partner! Thankfully, the guy (Will) told me he didn’t have a partner and so now we’re together for the experiments! We’re starting with probably not the best experiment but then at least I’ve done it all before! Next week however is Matlab so please wish me luck with it. It’s a horrible coding course we have to take… Not looking forward to that.

Tuesday came and once again I made it to my lectures, and came home to an empty flat. I phoned home on Tuesday for a bit of a chat, and had a chat with my aunt in Dundee too, and so I passed the time that way. Again, I mainly spent the day writing notes up and making sure I understood what was going on. Of course, I remembered to take part in the GRLPOWR chat on Twitter and it basically ended up being a Christmas chat – at least the bits I saw! Oh, that’s another thing. I woke up with fresher’s flu on Monday and so by Tuesday honestly thought I was dying. Yes, I’m quite a bad sufferer of man-flu. A simple cold was killing me. But I attempted an early night on Tuesday as a result.

Ah Wednesday… The highlight of my week. If you have me on snapchat, then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about and I’d like to apologise for my rambling so much about going to bed instead of actually getting up and going to bed. But we’ll get to that point in a minute. I woke up on Wednesday feeling slightly better and was happy to go to class. I came back, did some work, and then made a chilli. Except there were 5 portions of chilli… I don’t know if I’ve just reduced my portion sizes or what as I purposefully only bought enough meat to make 2 portions so I’m not sure how that developed into 5? Anyway. I then got ready to go to LGBTQ+ which was having it’s official Launch Night event to raise money for the year. Drinks were £1 for a single and £2 for doubles, beers and ciders. There were also raffle tickets on sale so naturally I spent £10 on tickets and didn’t win anything. Some of my old friends from last year showed up and it was a great night, resulting in me going to Polo – the LGBTQ+ club in Glasgow City Centre. Suffice to say I spent a small fortune on drinks overall, made it home just after 3am, and was still snapchat vlogging at 4am… Sorry! No wonder I was so hungover on Thursday…

Thursday morning was painful. I woke up and spent the first hour trying not to throw up, before throwing on whatever clothes I could find and going to my lectures. Warm lecture theatres, lots of people, and being hungover was not a fantastic combination but I survived! Came home, went to have a bit of a nap but couldn’t due to noise, and so just got on with some work. Mary and I got Chinese as she had been out with the football girls and was feeling equally as rough as me. We then curled up on the sofa to watch The Apprentice. Anyone else delighted that it’s back? There were some fabulous comments and one-liners! Unfortunately I missed the chat for GRLPOWR but I think it was a good one! I then went to bed and wrote up a few blog posts while discussing the GRLPOWR Christmas plans. Yes it’s early but the fact that it’s already the 9th of October is a sign that time is going to fly!

Friday was a bit of a mixed day. I woke up thinking ‘Wow, Mary’s up early, I don’t normally see her before lectures…’. I rolled over and looked at my phone – 11:08am. My first lecture of the day had started 3 minutes earlier and there I was still in bed. There went my ‘attend every lecture’ goal! I did, however, manage to shower, dry my hair, have breakfast, and look semi decent all in the 40 minutes I had before my next lecture – not too bad in my opinion! On my way home, an old friend bumped into me and followed me home… Not that I don’t like him but just he ditched us for over a year because he had a girlfriend and now that they’ve broken up he’s come crawling back. I wouldn’t care but he expected me to just continue as if no time had passed. The afternoon was spent talking on the phone to Mum, and writing my post for Tuesday next week. Trust me when I say I was writing it from 4:30 until well after 9, and I didn’t even stop for dinner. So at 10pm I curled up in bed with doritos, netflix, and the GRLPOWR group chat to have a relaxed night.

Finally, Saturday was spent tidying my room, organising shopping lists and actually doing the shopping. I caught up on some uni work, spoke to one of my grannies, and cooked dinner for Jason, Mary and myself. Then Saturday night was once again spent blogging and chatting to friends! Haha, what happened to my social life?

So that’s you up to date! What did you get up to this week? Any fun stories to share?

Already?

Hello again! It really doesn’t seem all that long since I last wrote a weekly wind up. Believe it or not, it actually takes a great deal of thought to go back through the week and remember what happened! But my brain could use the exercise, especially since it’s summer. However, if someone could inform the weather that it’s summer I would be a lot happier!

Sunday was my first ever car boot sale. We’re still overrun with odds and ends from Tom’s house and so over the last year Mum, Dad and Rachel have been doing the odd car boot sale to get rid of some things. To be there early enough for a good spot, we apparently had to leave the house at 6:30am – not my idea of a Sunday morning! However, when we got there, we set up and it was good fun despite the wind and rain. Of course, it would’ve been a heck of a lot better if Dad had actually packed tea bags instead of just flasks of hot water! We made a profit of about £100 and so were happy to call it a day around 2pm, forgetting of course that we still had to pack up. Eventually we got home and unloaded the stuff from the car before collapsing in front of the TV for the rest of the evening.

Monday was slightly less hectic, with Dad and me doing the Tesco shop for Mum, and then really not doing much until taking Baron for a walk on Monday night.

Tuesday saw Rachel taking me into town to try and persuade me to buy new clothes – it certainly was interesting! I’m not really a fan of shopping unless there’s something I’m in the mood for. We then ended up walking home in the rain. I wasn’t impressed. But we made it, and started in to tidying things around the house for Mum.

Again, Wednesday was a quiet enough day. We went into town to do a few things and pick up some stuff for Rachel, had lunch at Granny’s apartment, and then headed home to enjoy the sun. Actually, it started quiet and then developed into a pretty big day! I had been added to a private chat on Twitter and was beginning to really feel comfortable with everyone there to the point we’ve started a little community and on Wednesday night after Great British Bake Off, we planned a meet up in London in December! I’m so excited to finally meet some of my favourite people from online – mainly so my mum stops thinking I make all this up about talking to people from all over the place!

Thursday started hectic with a lot of people on our chat trying to figure out what they’d missed the night before. You can be gone 10 minutes and come back to 200 or more messages if that gives you a clue… Dad and I did some shopping, then mum came home early from work so we sunbathed in the garden before finishing the night with a BBQ. I also got some really exciting news that one of my all time favourite people is coming back from California to visit us in Glasgow early next year!!! I cannot wait to see her again, it’s been far too long!!
Friday arrived and we spent the morning doing housework before meeting Mum for lunch in Marks and Spencer’s. She and I had the chicken and bacon sandwich and it was so filling! Just a shame it was quite dry, so we asked for a little sauce pot of mayonnaise it made all the difference! Afterwards, we went shopping and managed to buy Rachel’s birthday present from Mum and Dad, and I managed to pick up a new outfit for wearing on the day of my birthday! Would you like to see it? We finished the day with a drink in a local pub, and then home to organise more birthday stuff.
Saturday flew by to be honest. I made a carrot and lentil soup in the morning, then in the afternoon we went for a lovely walk in Holywood, Belfast, as a family with Granny included. We went to the rugby club for a drink afterwards (I swear we don’t spend all our time drinking) where we saw an old family friend who is unlikely to be alive this time next year. I don’t actually know what’s wrong with him but he’s been getting progressively worse over the last 6 months and just looking at him today we knew immediately he probably doesn’t have long left. The worst part is I’ll probably be in Scotland when he passed and won’t be able to come over for the funeral…

We came home, had dinner, and I curled up to watch X Factor. Did you see it? The girl at the Edinburgh auditions was fantastic!

What did you get up to this week? Will I be seeing you at the @GRLPOWRCHAT on Tuesday at 9pm? Please please please come support us! Lauren is our first host so it would be great if you could come support her!

Sunday

Hello once again for your weekly summary of what I’ve been up to! How was your week? Has it been busy?

My To Do List – use post it notes to use it again!
Sunday, I posted my to do list. I’ll be posting later how I got on with the to do list. Did you like that or prefer me to not post things like that? Let me know! I’d rather know these things than post content you aren’t interested in. The rest of the day was spent revising, cleaning, blogging, and I actually went to the gym! It felt great to be exercising again. The best part about it was I got to see some of the olympics at the same time! Later that day, a friend came round, we all had dinner together, then we went to a pub for drinks with some other friends. We ended the night just after 11, but the friend who came for dinner didn’t leave until 3am, during which time I had a great DMC with him. Eventually we realised the time, he left, and I collapsed into bed.

Monday was a great day for my blogging planning. I scheduled a load of posts, finally started filling in my bloggers planner, revised a bit, and got taking part in some great Twitter chats! A couple of friends called over to chat, and it was good to see people again. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy being alone, but I also like knowing there are other people in the flat. Oh, I also signed up to a blogging challenge for September but I’ll fill you in on that later in the week.
Tuesday was spent in bed, cramming for the maths exam. I went for a walk to enjoy the sun a bit but really I didn’t do very much. Sorry!

Wednesday morning dawned and I took myself off to my exam. I didn’t realise until I got to the main building that I hadn’t checked what room I was in or anything so had a momentary panic. I actually liked the paper, it was fair in that if you knew your stuff you were fine. Some poor guy sitting beside me literally answered the first 6 marks, read the rest of his paper, closed his books, and sat there for 80 minutes not writing anything… Whoops! Afterwards, Nuala and I went for coffee/lunch in a really nice little place near us. I’ll definitely go back, maybe when Rachel’s over at Halloween. Then, it was home to pack and make up Mary’s bed again before heading to view a few friends’ new flat. What was meant to be 5 minutes for a cup of tea and a tour, turned into 3 hours of a stay. I walked back to the flat, booked a taxi, tidied up once more, and left. The airport was fine, quite boring to be honest, as all airports are. I went to the nearest bar for dinner and discovered I was stuck between a Pokéstop and a Gym but unable to access either of them despite the fact they were both so close! However, someone had dropped a lure and so I sat and caught Pokemon while eating dinner and talking to some lovely people on Twitter. At last, my gate number was put up and I headed off to wait. We were queuing to board when next thing David Cameron walked past! Fun times, right? So we boarded, had a quick and easy flight, and then home for a relatively early night. Or so I thought. Could I sleep? Not at all! Got to sleep at 3am and was awake again from 5.

And so Thursday was an interesting day, surviving on 5 hours sleep in the previous 48 hours. Rachel’s AS results came in, and while she was disappointed in 2 of her grades, she was over the moon about the other two! We rushed through the shower and headed to M&S to get some things for dinner, visited one granny, drove to school to speak to Rachel’s teachers about possible resits and remarks, and then went for lunch with the other granny. During a lovely meal, she decided to bring up the fact I don’t want to continue at uni and said something along the lines of “don’t give up just because it’s difficult”. Well at that point I started crying again, explaining that it wasn’t just that I clearly was struggling with passing, explaining everything I’ve thought, said and done in the last year. Afterwards, it was decided that my university stuff shouldn’t be talked about, hell I wasn’t going to complain about that! We then came back to the house for a barbecue and everyone ended up in bed just after 10. I decided that, since my new hand weights arrived this morning, I would do a mini weights routine before bed and so 20 minutes later crawled into bed in an attempt to sleep.
I actually managed a decent night’s sleep and so on Friday morning I woke up feeling fresh. My granny and aunt called round so we sat and chatted for an hour or so before they left and I was finally able to get through the shower. Stupidly, I decided to exercise after said shower – cue a rather sweaty Katie for the rest of the day. However, I was so proud of myself for motivating myself to exercise that really I didn’t care. That afternoon we went into Lisburn and I picked up a couple more things for Rachel’s birthday present as I now have 3 weeks left to sort everything for it – help! Then we went for drinks with Mum and Dad, and then out for dinner. It was actually quite a nice change of a day!
Saturday then was slightly less busy – even if the other days don’t sound busy they were! We were all through the shower and getting ready by 10am and set to clearing out one of our bookcases down stairs. Apparently people in this family get rid of books – the horror!! After lunch, we headed down to Boucher Road to try and get Rachel a bag for her upcoming formal, considering she managed to break my bag from the wedding that I was going to lend her. We didn’t get her a bag, however we did manage to get 4 new seat cushions, a photo frame, a table, and a bit of clothes shopping. Not bad for one afternoon! We visited Granny and then came on home. I got started on writing blog posts, and everyone else watched some of the Olympics. A night in front of the TV was had, and we went to bed reasonably early as Sunday has an early start with us taking part in a car boot sale. Wish us luck!!

Sunday again

Well once again it’s that time of the week when I tell you all the oh so exciting things I got up to in the past 7 days. Did you know, Sundays are the most popular day for people to view my blog? That’s quite interesting actually. Sunday’s the day I tend to not be online as much! Well Saturdays are when I tend to take a break from social media anyway so in my mind Sunday wouldn’t be a popular day. But you know what you like to do, who am I to question it?
My most popular post this week was Well then, and before I get into anything to do with my usual Sunday post I’d just like to thank everyone who took the time out of their day to read and comment on it. You’ve all helped me so much, but I’ll come to that later.
Monday, I was awake early to see Rachel off to the airport before I then spent the day revising. I did take the time to question whether technology and social media have taken over our lives, what do you think? Let me know here! I also shared an open letter to my mum as I felt like I needed to get things off my chest. I think Monday should’ve been a sign of the upcoming week.
Tuesday was another day of revision except, for a change of scene, Jason and I went Pokemon hunting in Glasgow. This was my first ever Pokemon hunt and it was actually quite fun once I figured out how to catch the Pokemon!
On Wednesday, I began to go a little bit crazy. No amount of revision seemed to be helping me, and in the end I wound myself up beyond belief. I think Wednesday night was the night I began to be honest with myself with regards to university and life in general. That’s when I wrote “Well then”. After a mini break down, a lot of tears, and some wise words from a few friends, I was calm enough to bed.
I woke up on Thursday and phoned home to tell them how I was feeling. Again, more tears. It took a long time for me to calm down again. To be honest, I was still in hysterics when a few friends arrived. It meant I could distract myself for an hour before the exam. Sitting the exam, I’m no longer sure if it was actually an okay paper or if it just felt that way because I was so scared about not knowing anything for it, does that make sense? Afterwards, I came home and crawled into bed where I spent the rest of the night.
Friday morning dawned and I had to go back to uni for another exam. This one I can honestly say was a disaster. I don’t know whether it was a mind blank or if I’d ever known it to begin with. And so I came back and started job hunting.
Yesterday, I woke up with a pounding headache for the 4th time this week. I thought nothing of it, took a few painkillers and started to clean the flat. However, after an hour, the headache was getting worse and worse, I began to feel dizzy if I even lowered my head to look at what I was doing, and any time I bent over I thought I was going to be sick. After a while, I practically crawled back to bed to try and sleep off whatever was wrong with me. 5 hours later I accepted this was a migraine and not a headache, and nowhere in the flat was dark or quiet enough to be of any help. I phoned home to ask for advice and was told to take some stinger painkillers and just keep sleeping. Eventually it lightened to the steady dull pain I’m used to, and I could actually sit up in bed without feeling nauseous. Within half an hour, Nuala was back!! So I forced my company on her for a few hours until we went our separate ways to head to bed.
Today, I’ll probably finish the cleaning I started yesterday, continue some revision, tidy my room, and maybe actually go to the gym! I’m excited to exercise again, is that sad?
How was your week?

End of the week, end of the month!

Wow okay so I’ve actually got both of these to write up today, please be patient while I try and remember the last month! Or will I start with the week’s review? Yeah, let’s do that first and then come back later for a round up of the month. Here goes!
Monday, I was an abandoned child while Mum, Dad and Rachel all went to the beach. I lay by the pool and read to my hearts content, and yes I still have that review to write. I’ll get on that as soon as I’ve finished these two posts, I promise. When they came back, we had our usual dip in the pool followed by a pre-shower drink so that we could go get ready for the night ahead. As was our usual routine, we got changed in our respective rooms and then Rachel and I moved through to Mum and Dad to chat while they finished getting ready. As we started down for dinner, Rachel somehow managed to kick the door frame and ended up with a bleeding toe. Now, while this doesn’t sound funny here it was hilarious at the time. To be honest, her toe is still sore so maybe it isn’t funny… But it definitely was at the time. After dinner that night, we met José in Es Canar for a few drinks with Mum and Dad. It was a good night and we got back to the hotel around 2:30am.
Tuesday was more of the same, just lying by the pool and getting some sun while reading and revising. I accidentally fell asleep for an hour and woke up completely sunburnt on the back of my legs to the point that it hurt to walk. That night we said goodbye to 2 of our friends who had been going to the hotel for 10 years but they have decided that this year wil have been their last. There were quite a few tears, and the night ended reasonably early given the circumstances.
Wednesday marked our last full day. We said our goodbyes to some of the staff in the afternoon, making them promise to come visit us if they’re ever in the UK. That night there was a party of some kind in the hotel and everyone was invited however we felt extremely underdressed, even in some of our best clothes. There were people from Chanel there… Rachel and I were then to go on and meet José in Es Canar again for a few drinks and so we said farewell to yet more staff – it was painful, especially knowing they mightn’t be there the next time we go if and when we next go. After a few drinks in one bar, we went on the dodgems (I’ve a serious bruise on my knee to prove it) before having a few drinks in another bar and then on to a club after. As per usual, we ended the night on the beach before getting a taxi back to the hotel.
Thursday had us doing our last minute packing and soaking up the sun. It was also the worst day for goodbyes as we were properly saying goodbye to José and I honestly didn’t want to. I could have a platonic marriage to a 39 year old and live in Ibiza, right? We got on the bus and went to the airport and finally got home around 10pm on Thursday night.
Friday brought about a mad scramble to unpack and then repack for me. I got a new phone in the middle of it all, and then Granny H came up to the house for a Chinese takeaway and a catch up. It was a quiet enough day considering we were adapting to the delightful summer weather we get here in the UK.
Saturday (yesterday) was then a case of up early to finish packing and get across to the hairdressers. I was furious when I came out though. The prices have gone up to £34 for a cut and blow dry, my hair looked nothing like what I’d asked for, and when I voiced that concern the response was “well I did what you asked and there isn’t anything else I can do”. My hair looked like it hadn’t seen shampoo in a month it was that limp!!! So I came home and restyled it myself to look semi reasonable. We then went and visited Granny before taking me to the airport. I then flew back to Glasgow, arrived into the flat, and collapsed into bed. It had been a busy couple of days!
So today I’m going to revise and write a few more blog posts. Have a great Sunday!
