The Freedom Writers Diary

Hello again!

Sorry for the photo a day challenge falling to the side recently, I’ll fix that either tonight or tomorrow morning! What I wanted to say to you all is I have finally finished reading The Freedom Writers Diary, and I have the mascara/tear-stained face to prove it!
Ms Gruwell made it her mission to help teach her freshman class acceptance and equality. She made a classroom divided by colour unite as a family through experience and empathy. Through the diary entries of her 150 students, we too are taught to accept each and every person as an individual. I’ll be honest and say I can’t review this book because it made me feel too strongly about it. I simply can’t emphasise enough – you must read this book. Even if only to tell me I’m talking rubbish. But please, give either it or the film a chance. It could change your perspective on life, or motivate you to help others change. If juvenile delinquents, given the option of school or jail, can graduate high school and go on to be some of the most influential role models to people of all ages today, then we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to remove my ruined make up before I get on this bus. Glasgow, I’m almost back!

Hey :) I'm 21, from Northern Ireland and no longer new to blogging. I love all things TV, books, food, music and film as well as going out with friends. This is hopefully somewhere you'll be able to come if you feel you need a laugh or even just to stay in touch. Follow for Follow and all that however I'd like to take this chance to say thanks for coming to read! Enjoy and feel free to make any recommendations!
