Golf presentations are boring. I realised this as I sat for an hour at Lisburn Golf Club listening to the Juvenile Prize Distribution. Rachel has been a member for 2 years now and while she enjoys playing, she doesn’t enjoy competitions. So why on earth I am sitting through a prize day for her when she hasn’t won anything isn’t exactly clear. Stronger language would’ve been used there but I think it’s frowned on… But, sticking true to our penguin friend up at the top of the post, we must persevere. This is also true of packing…
Today I got my shoes packed! Now I just have clothes, kitchen stuff, handbags, food stuff, cleaning products, coats, jumpers and odds and ends left to pack. All for 10pm tomorrow. This is possible! And I will do it! As well as playing sims for at least an hour…
I am in a Les Mis mood today, I could watch it on repeat for the next few days! If only I owned it on DVD haha.
Oh! Wait! She just got a prize!! 4th in the Beginners category… Shame she was a beginner last year and no longer belongs to that category… But she still won something! It had better be worth the pain of sitting here for an hour or it’s being shoved….
A reason we all must persevere. That’s why I’m here today – a brief reminder of what this is all worth. I found this short story online and thought I’d share it with you
A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for vehicles to come around. As soon as one came he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it. One day a neighbor asked the farmer “Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?” The farmer replied, “That is not what bothers me. What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one.” Many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing meaningless goals.
Life is hard by the yard,
but by the inch,
it’s a cinch.
Update: kitchen stuff, coats, jumpers and food stuff packed!
P.P.S. Hello and welcome to the newest members of the family! Hope you enjoy having a nosy round x
